Accessibility statement

What this site conforms to, how that was established, and what it does not yet cover.

A practice that evaluates other organizations should be willing to publish the same account of itself, including the parts that are not finished. This statement is written to the level of detail the practice asks of clients.

Conformance status

  • Target standardWeb Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA, the standard incorporated by the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human ServicesWCAG 2.1 AA
  • StatusPartially conformant. Automated evaluation returns no violations across every page and breakpoint tested, and the manual checks listed below have been performed. A full manual evaluation against every applicable success criterion is scheduled, and this statement will be updated with its resultPartially conformant
  • ScopeAll pages of adaaccessforall.com, and the two PDF documents published on the contact pageWhole site
  • Evaluated bySelf-evaluation, performed by an evaluator certified under the DHS Trusted Tester for Web process, certificate TT-2604-08987Self-evaluation
  • Statement first publishedAugust 13, 20262026-08-13
  • Last evaluatedAugust 13, 20262026-08-13

Partially conformant means parts of the content do not fully conform, or conformance has not yet been established by full manual evaluation. The practice states this rather than claiming full conformance, because an automated pass covers only a portion of the applicable success criteria and a claim beyond the evidence would be the same overstatement this practice warns clients about.

How this was evaluated

Stated in enough detail that a reader can reproduce it.

Automated evaluation

axe-core run against every page at 1280, 768 and 320 pixels wide, covering the WCAG 2.0 A and AA, WCAG 2.1 A and AA, and best practice rule sets. Zero violations at the time of writing.

axe-core, all pages, three breakpoints

Keyboard and focus

Tab order verified on every interactive element. Skip link, disclosure controls, the self-assessment checkboxes, the scrollable calendar region and all form fields confirmed operable by keyboard with a visible focus indicator.

2.1.1, 2.4.3, 2.4.7

Contrast, measured not estimated

Every text and background pair computed. Text over the hero photographs measured against the composited image with the text hidden, giving 6.68:1 at desktop and 12.06:1 at mobile in the worst case.

1.4.3, 1.4.11

Reflow and resize

Verified at 320 pixels with no horizontal scrolling of the page, and at the 200 percent zoom equivalent with no loss of content or function.

1.4.4, 1.4.10

Structure

Heading order checked for skipped levels on every page. Landmarks, list semantics, table header scope, form labelling and accessible names verified programmatically.

1.3.1, 2.4.6, 4.1.2

Documents

Both published PDFs confirmed tagged, with document language and document title set, and configured to display the title rather than the filename.

1.3.1, 2.4.2, 3.1.1

Known limitations

Listed because a statement without limitations is usually a statement that was not tested.

  • Full manual evaluation outstandingAutomated testing plus the manual checks above does not equal a full evaluation of every applicable success criterion under the DHS Trusted Tester process. That evaluation is scheduled and this statement will be revised with its findingsScheduled
  • PDF documentsThe published PDFs are tagged with language and title set, which is the baseline. A full evaluation against PDF/UA and ISO 14289-1 has not been completed, and no PDF/UA conformance is claimed. An accessible alternative in another format is available on requestNo PDF/UA claim
  • Third-party servicesAppointment booking is handled by Calendly and form submission by Netlify. Their interfaces are outside the practice's control. Anyone who encounters a barrier in either can complete the same task by emailing the practice directlyOutside our control
  • Hero photographsBackground photographs are decorative, carry no information not present in the adjacent text, and are exposed to assistive technology as decorative rather than describedDecorative
  • Regulatory calendar tableOn narrow screens the table scrolls horizontally within its own region rather than compressing. The region is keyboard reachable and labelled. The page itself does not scroll horizontallyBy design
  • Screen reader testingVerification with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack against this site is in progress and will be reported hereIn progress
